Isabela is the second largest province of the Philippines, and the largest on the island of Luzon in land area. Its capital is the city of Ilagan. Situated within the Cagayan Valley region, it is bordered by the provinces of Cagayan to the north, Kalinga to the northwest, Mountain Province to the central-west, Ifugao and Nueva Vizcaya to the southwest, Quirino and Aurora to the south, and the Philippine Sea to the east.

Magat Dam is a large rock-fill dam in the island of Luzon in the Philippines particularly in the Isabela Province. The dam is on the Magat River, a major tributary of Cagayan River. The dam generates electricity through the Magat Hydroelectric Power Plant. Enjoy the beautiful view of Magat River and the Mountains while cycling or doing jogging. The Magat Dam is located at the boundaries of Namillangan, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao and Ramon,Isabela, approximately 350 kilometres (220 mi) north of Metro Manila.

How to get there:

From Manila/Pasay City:

Proceed to the Victory Liner Bus Terminal. Buy a bus ticket and tell the cashier that your destination is Santiago Isabela. Fare is around 600 to 650 pesos. Travel time is around 8 hours to 9 hours depends on the traffic situation. Alight the bus at Victory Liner Santiago Terminal, from there, you may ride a UV Express van or tricycle bound to Ramon, travel time is around 20 minutes, if you are riding a tricycle, you may ask the driver to bring you directly to Magat Dam, if not, ride a tricycle from Ramon to Magat Dam, around 10 minutes.

Via Airplane:

Domestic flight from Ninoy Aquino International Airport to Cauayan Airport.
At Cauayan Airport, you can do the same thing, ride UV Express Van to Ramon

After sightseeing at Magat Dam,
you can visit Camp Viscarra, 5 minutes away from Magat Dam.

We we’re not able to visit the said Camp due to limited time. But we will visit it the next time we come back to Isabela province.
