We always want to discover new places, and of course food. Last February 16 was Chinese New Year, and were just at home browsing Facebook. Suddenly, we saw this place called “Kamayan sa Palaisdaan” . It was a 3-hour ride by car from Manila.

And here it is, “Kamayan sa Palaisdaan” welcome us here at Tayabas, Quezon Province. Kamayan sa Palaisdaan is a restaurant known for its bamboo huts floating in man-made ponds.

The Kamay ni Hesus Shrine at Lucban in Quezon is a sought-after pilgrimage destination known for its miraculous healing masses and the steep hill that leads to a majestic Risen Christ statue. Given the Philippines’ rich Catholic culture, it is no surprise that thousands of devotees flock here, especially every Holy Week to repent, reflect, and give thanks.

How to get there:
Via Public Transportation:
1. From Manila/Buendia bus terminals, ride a bus heading to Lucena and alight the last stop, Lucena Grand Terminal. Bus fare is around PHP 200 per person. Travel time is around 3 to 4 hours depending on the traffic.

2. At the Lucena Grand Terminal, look for jeepneys heading to Lucban. Tell the driver to drop you off at Kamayan sa Palaisdaan Resort. Jeepney fare is around PHP 25 pesos. Travel time from Grand Terminal to the resort is 20 minutes. The resort is on the left side of the road.

3. Once you’re there, you will notice the Air Summit Airplane.
